Mark Friedman (he/him) considers himself a husband and a father first and foremost. As a Marriage and Family Therapist who works with adolescents, adults, and couples, he believes therapy is most effective when it is a collaborative process, helping clients explore their stories, understand their patterns, and develop tools to navigate life’s challenges. Mark takes an existential humanistic approach to therapy, rooted in family systems theory, which is guided by the exploration of each individual’s own experience and how to improve personal relationships in order to ultimately find happiness and satisfaction in life. Mark’s clinical approach draws primarily from narrative therapy, while integrating other evidence-based methods to meet each client’s unique needs. He has a strong focus on couples therapy, supporting partners in improving communication, resolving conflict, and strengthening their connection, alongside work with individuals and families navigating stress, relationship challenges, and life cycle transitions. Mark’s training focused on family systems, and he has gained diverse clinical experience working under the guidance of perinatal psychiatric nurse practitioners as well as an experienced psychologist specializing in psychoanalysis. He is also currently pursuing his Level 2 certification in the Gottman Method, further deepening his expertise in couples therapy. He is passionate about creating a warm, non-judgmental space, where he helps clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to make meaningful change. He continues to engage in professional development in order to bring fresh perspectives and strategies into every session.
