Clinical Intern
Lia Wiedemann (she/her) is a psychotherapist-in-training pursuing her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Syracuse University. Her work is rooted in a deep curiosity about family systems, generational patterns, gender identity, expression and expectations, and the ways early environments shape emotional and relational life. Lia’s path to therapy was inspired by her childhood exposure to divorce, her international marriage, her three children, and a loved one’s cancer diagnosis — experiences that strengthened her belief in the transformative power of relational work. A native New Yorker, Lia co-founded a top-ranked Brooklyn real estate team known for its client-centered and design-focused approach. During her fourteen years in real estate, she has built a reputation for patience, empathy, and authenticity as she guides clients through major life transitions, skills she now brings to her clinical work. Her earlier career in editorial leadership at Food Network and AOL further developed her communication strengths and her lifelong passion for understanding people’s stories. Lia’s therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in acceptance and awareness of what makes each person unique. She is committed to helping individuals, couples, and families explore their histories, understand inherited patterns and coping mechanisms, and cultivate more connected and meaningful relationships. She brings attunement, openness, and a deep respect for each client’s complex roots to every session.
