Juhi Patel, MHC-LP (she/her) is a trauma-informed psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of complex trauma (C-PTSD), developmental and attachment trauma, dissociation, and chronic emotional dysregulation in adults and couples. As a first-generation child of South Asian immigrants, she brings a culturally responsive lens to her work, recognizing how culture, family systems, and identity shape emotional well-being. She partners with clients to understand the origins of their patterns and how healing occurs through greater self-understanding, nervous system regulation, and new experiences of safety and connection. Grounded in attachment theory, neuroscience, and trauma-informed care, Juhi believes that many symptoms are adaptive responses to overwhelming experiences rather than personal shortcomings. Rather than viewing symptoms as flaws, she helps clients understand how their nervous system adapted to survive and how those same adaptations can become barriers to healing. She believes lasting healing occurs through both insight, embodiment and the experience of a safe, attuned therapeutic relationship. Juhi tailors therapy to each client's unique history, nervous system, and goals, drawing from relational, somatic, and parts-oriented approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She incorporates EMDR, Brainspotting, ERP and other evidence-based interventions when clinically appropriate. She has completed advanced post-graduate training in complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and somatic psychotherapy and supports clients experiencing dissociation, intrusive memories, flashbacks, attachment injuries, and major life transitions. She strives to create a warm, collaborative therapeutic relationship that fosters emotional regulation, resilience, and lasting change. Juhi is currently pursuing her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Mental Health Leadership at the University of Southern California (USC), reflecting her commitment to advancing trauma-informed systems of care, education and leadership.
