Iris Bea, MHC-i
Clinical Intern
Iris (she/her) believes that healing happens through both insight and embodied experience. As a therapist, she integrates cognitive frameworks with mindfulness and body-based approaches to help clients shift patterns and move towards lasting change. She has special interest and training in CBT, ACT, EFT, IFS, mindfulness-based and somatic interventions. Iris works with individuals and couples navigating a variety of issues, including chronic stress, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, and symptoms of complex trauma (C-PTSD). Her doctoral-level experience in neuroscience research informs her understanding of how change happens in the brain and nervous system. Her clinical experience includes counseling and crisis intervention in both community mental health and university campus settings. As a second-generation immigrant, Iris brings a lived understanding of the complexities of navigating multiple cultures and systems. She has given leadership workshops on topics of identity and intersectionality, and facilitated retreat groups, including at the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York. Clients often describe Iris as warm, insightful, and deeply present. In, she creates a safe and collaborative space where therapy becomes an opportunity not only to better understand old patterns, but to experience new ways of relating - to themselves, to others, and to the life they want to build.
